This is the on-line story about Mr.
Zoran Markovic...
...a man who contributed
transformation of business culture
in former Yugoslavia's and neighbouring countries.
When he returned to Yugoslavia from Canada, in 1990, Mr Markovic started
Bel Pagette, first private telecommunication company and first paging
system in Yugoslavia and East European countries. Within four years
of operation, Company expanded it's operation in Poland, Romania,
Italy, and was instrumental in setting up the largest paging operation
in India, Page Me.
Bel Pagette's value was over $20 million,
when in December 1995 company was illegally confiscated by Brother Karic's (Bogoljub Karic) company helped by paramilitary forces and
regime of Slobodan Milosevic.
Today Zoran Markovic lives in Canada
where he runs telecommunication company MiSMe Communications
Incorporated.

"Then, on the night of
Dec. 17, 1995, gunmen belonging to the notorious Tigers militia seized
the Bel Pagette offices. The militia, which fought in Bosnia, is headed
by Zeljko Raznjatovic - Arkan , who is wanted in several European countries
for murder and extortion over his involvement in organized crime. Markovic,
fearing he would be murdered, fled to Romania."
